Reply:16-18 maybe ... you are both definately not ugly and do not look like little kids ... both are attractive young women
Reply:neither is ugly....the 1st looks older than the 2nd
i'd say you're both about 14-16 but it's hard to tell...my 23-yr-old daughter looked 15 til she was 22
Reply:you both look hot!
Reply:i think your boyfried is a creep.you are both very pretty girls.you can not be more than 17 either of you.
Reply:Um...sweetie, he just wanted a reason to dump u and be mean. U are not ugly!!!!!!!!! In the first pic, u look 20. in the second one, u look 14. So? he did date u, and it's not like u morphed or something, so if u look like a kid now, u probably did when he asked u out...so whats his deal? Some guys like girls who look young...it's a good thing. Don't pay any heed to a guy who dated u, and then said stupid things to break up with u and hurt u. im sure he didn't think u were ugly when u dated, and I'm sure he didn't think u looked like a kid either. U know, he seems to be the kid...how immature and mean! U can do better girl!!!!!!!
Reply:First: Probably a 3.

Reply:Im soo sorry to hear that! What a prick!
To be honest i think your both quite nice, i think number 1 a 7 and number 2 a 9. I think nmber one looks about 22 and number 2 about 19?
Which one is you?
Reply:I think you are just looking for attention or you have really low self esteem.
Reply:you both look about 13 lol =] a bit to Young to stress over a bf!
Reply:First one: 16 - 18
Second one: 15 - 16
He's probably just using that as an excuse...and I don't know how you act...so he could be saying you act like a little kid too.
Reply:I think you guys are very pretty. If I didn't think so I wouldn't have answered and no I'm not a lesbian. Don't listen to what that jerk says. You guys look like teenagers. When people get older most of us start to appreciate other aspects of a person and not their appearance. Although regular use of soap is a good thing!
Reply:10!!!!!!!!!! you are both very pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:1: 17ish, pretty...love her hair
2:16ish, very pretty!

Sexing bleeding heart tetras?
know how? mine are pretty young but the larger one has alot of white on it's anal fin and the smallest one's dorsal fin is really orange.
Don't tell me to look online. That is what I am doing
thanks
Sexing bleeding heart tetras?
If you are trying to breed them....good luck.
The body is deep and disc-shaped. The back is orange to brown and the belly is the same. The body color is pinkish violet to orange and in reflected light, purple. The upper half of the iris is red. Just behind the gill cover is a bright red spot from which this fish gets its name. The male's dorsal fin is sickle-shape and black, pink, purple, and white in color. His anal fin is white. The female's dorsal fin is not as elongated, has the same colors. Its anal fin is smaller with less white color. The back is more high-arched with older individuals. the other fins are pink to gray.
SEX: Males are more colorful and have more elaborate fins.
B: Difficult, because females often do not respond to mating attempts of males. Eggs are laid in floating plants and some fall to the bottom. Remove parents after eggs are laid. Fry hatch after 2-3 days and are free-swimming after 2-4 more. The fry are hard to raise and must be kept under a constant regime of regular, partial water changes. Start feeding with small live and crushed dry foods.
BP: 9. A challenging fish to breed.
R: This fish is somewhat susceptible to velvet disease and "Ich". This fish is sensitive to water conditions. Does not usually live more than five years. Requires frequent partial water changes.
DC: 5. The Bleeding Heart Tetra is sensitive to water pollutants and disease. It must be fed a varied diet in order to thrive.

Reply:Females are plainer, larger fish...thicker in the body whereas males are thinner in the body, show more color

Bleeding heart plants patio bouquet?
I'M ALSO NOT SURE IF THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. I HAVE THEM AND THEY'RE GREAT. EASY TO GROW ANYWHERE, MINE ARE ABOUT 3FT. TALL. I HAVE THEM IN SHADE AND SUN. BE AWARE THAT THEY DO FADE AWAY LIKE TULIPS AFTER BLOOMING SO DON'T PLAN TO SEE FOLIAGE ALL SUMMER IN A POT OR GROUND. I MULCHED THEM FOR THE WINTER. THEY WILL COME BACK EVERY YEAR AND THE FLOWERS MAKE A BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET RAIN OR SHINE.

THANKS FOR THE POINTS! Report It
Reply:not sure of your question? Early in Spring, when the plant looks nice, it might work...but bleeding hearts are perennials and do better in the ground...or so I've found. they also will "split" if they're in the ground and start new plants. Hope this helps.

Bleeding Heart Libs still ranting about Global Warming?
cause they think polar bears are adorable? Pluss think about it, Al Gore talks funny...he has like a lisp. And i heard about this one scientist who said it's not true, and he said that it's like the ice age and natural and stuff...and he drives a corvette...the democraps (hehe i made that myself) are trying to steal our freedoms to drive bigass trucks and leave the light on. Just like terrorists...what if old people fall in the dark? why don't they worry about real issues like my stock portfolio and 401K?

Funny, Bush has finally admitted that it is a problem. I guess when you find out about that, you will change your mind since you can't think for yourself and strictly follow the party line.
Reply:Global warming is not caused by pollution but it is a natural phenomenon according to scientists. AL Gore is not a scientist.

Yes the earth warms and cools, it has done so for billions of years. Nothing we do will have a MAJOR impact on that.
As for Gore and his 2500 scientists.....Thats a bunch of nonsense.
1.Those "2500 scientists" are not all scientists. Most on Gore's list are likeminded people who share the same "fearmongering"view.
2. The majority of those scientists sued to get their names removed because they were asked about different specific (related to their filds) topics. Thats what they wrote about...their specialties.
3. When the few actual scientists were interviewed, none of them agreed with what the other was writing about.(thats a fact that these Fearmongering Liberals leave out"......

Are you a bleeding heart liberal or a bleeding heart conservative?
in the grand scheme of things, which struggle will be more critical to the fate of humanity:
(1.)The struggle of capitalist democracies like the US to provide a level of freedom for the people of the world against counter forces for oppression like the tyrannies of China, Russia, Iran, Syria, and North Korea.
(2.)The struggle to get gov'ts to tax the wealth of a nation in order to provide some basic quality of life to the poor and needy.
Are you a bleeding heart liberal or a bleeding heart conservative?
I'm a conservative without any 'bleeding heart'.
And (1) is obviously the more critical struggle.
As for (2), the bigger struggle is to prevent government from trying to exceed its limitations. It would be a better thing for welfare to not be a government function - it is inherently wrong for people to be able to vote themselves bread, paid for by someone else.

Please help give me advice..MY heart is bleeding in love?
Ok in the beginning of the year there was this guy that I loved soooooooooo much. He was an obsession to me and he was the only thing that I ever thought about. My whole life pratically revolved around him that's how much of an obsession I had of him. So off and on I talk to him and it turns out that he has a tone in his voice, he never talks to me with enthusiasm which pierced my heart today and he said it in front of his friends which made me so embarassed. He doesn't pay attention to so- obviously I'm thinking on not liking him anymore and that's what I'm trying to do but my heart keeps bleeding in love and I just can't get over him. I've tried so much. I need some advice on to recover. I am so confused and upset please give me some advice and how to heal my broken heart.
Please help give me advice..MY heart is bleeding in love?
Aww im so sorry! Iv been in similar situations and the more you act as if you like him the more he will push you away! When people told me that I was like "wat If I act like i dnt like him, he wont like me!" but then i tried it and acted as if i was having so much fun and talking to other boys and acting like he ddsnt exsist. a couple days later he cam crawling back! It works because you make him think that you dont need him and you can do without him and he stops feeling wanted wich is not good for his ego! ahaha try it out!

Where were the bleeding heart liberals after 9/11?
I've never seen a group of people so supportive of those that killed and maimed Americans than Democrats. I could understand it from an anti-American group, Castro or Russia during the cold war, but these are our own people.
Is there any way in the world that you can imagine Democrats protecting America? This would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic.
The people that vote them in, really believe in their heart that no one is planning to attack America again. They must, because these people are not going to protect us. I suspect even terrorist have the look of shock on their face at these revelations of how the Democrats are reacting.
Read this article and it will sicken you. Folks, these are Americans saying this... just read and you decide who sides these people are on.
Do you believe this is happening? Kennedy has done some weird things over his lifetime but this has to take the cake.
Where were the bleeding heart liberals after 9/11?
The "bleeding heart" liberals got political "religion" right after 9/11 and looked for conservatives to develop a proper response and even voted to support it.
However, shortly after 9/11 the "bleeding heart" liberals saw an opportunity to use the war on terror in Iraq as an opportunity to rally the far left fringes of the Democratic Party in a war against American Patriots.
I have a son that has been in Iraq for a year, not only fighting for the freedom of the Iraqi people but also for the freedom of America and it galls me that he not only is protecting those that appreciate what he's doing, but he's also protecting those that want to declare defeat in Iraq!
Pardon me while I go throw up!
Reply:give them a little credit. It took them almost 2 weeks before they started blaming Bush and corporate America for 9/11.
Reply:The bleeding hearts are right back to where they were before 9-11. Hating freedom, trying to take our liberty, and helping our enemies.

Edit-I forgot to mention that he drove drunk off a bridge and left a young woman to die. Silly me.
Reply:Right after 911 there were no liberals or conservatives. We were all Americans. We were united in being appalled at how we were brutally attacked. We were united when we went into Afghanistan to break AlQuaeda. It was only after Bush cut and ran from capturing Osama and got involved in a war in Iraq that had nothing to do with 911 that people started objecting. We've now been holding prisoners and torturing them with no trials or being shown a shred of evidence that they are terrorists or guilty of any crime for six years. Oh yeah. What article anyway?
Reply:I was where I was on 9/10/2001- out on the pacific, defending your right to be an uninformed idiot.
We don't believe that no one is planning to attack America again, but we do believe a couple of things:
1) Not every terrorist is in Iraq
2) When a memo reaches your desk that says "Bin Laden Determined to Strike inside of US" you should read it.
Quit blaming liberals for your problems.
Reply:Read WHAT article? I rarely become incensed over anything said by irrational conservatives, but you have, in essence, called Democrats traitors and that makes me furious! Nobody in this whole, beautiful country has done more damage to our way of life, our country's image, our young and vulnerable military, and to his own party than George W Bush! He has managed to destroy thousands of families, both ours and those of the Iraqis! You KNOW this war was wrong, yet you defend the person who started it for personal gain....his own, and that of his business crooks, including the bin-Laden family!
Reply:They are so blind with greed for things other people have worked for that is all they see or think.
consr above....why aren't you fighting.
Reply:I tell you what. I will consider your point of view when and only when I see Bush attending a funeral of a military service person killed in the line of duty. I will think more openly about your thoughts when and only when I see the injured military service members get the medical treatments, benefits, and respect from the Bush administration they so richly deserve. These brave souls did not have the same political connections to get them out of the military as GW did. And furthermore I can promise you that none of them would be so yellow to do so. But good old boy GW did. So until the Neo Cons get their own act cleaned up, don't go pointing out the foilables of others.
Reply:I totally agree! I think you forgot to add a link to the story! It's suppose to make you look superior to not support America anymore. Our country is going to go into the crapper if people with a conscience don't stand up to it. The enemy lives amongst us!

Why do bleeding heart doves have that red blood-like spot on their chests?
It seems as if it would put them at a disadvantage due to making them more obvious to predators because
a) They look more conspicuous because of the bright colour
b) If it looks like they're wounded (bleeding) isn't that more likely to make predators attack them?
Why do bleeding heart doves have that red blood-like spot on their chests?
The reason why bleeding heart doves have that red blood-like spot on their chests is because its for mating purposes. Only the male has the spot on its chest, he uses it to attract females. During mating season the male bleeding heart dove puffs out its chest and sings, the male with the largest chest and sings the best wins the females. Most predators that hunt these doves are color blind and they tend to always stay airbourne as to not get attacked by others. These birds stay in small flocks so as not to get attack by hungry mammals. But none the less they're very cute animals.
Reply:Great question. Perhaps the 'bleeding' is meant to distract predators from their young, or maybe to confuse the predator if there is more than one bleeding heart. Although I don't know much about their native habitat, I do know that they are ground doves, maybe they blend in with forest undergrowth/red flowers? Anyways, if you ever find the answer to that question, let me know. Very interesting.
Reply:you have a point there, but i have never seen a bleeding heart dove. but i think that you are right.
Reply:They are ground birds so from the air you cant see the red, they are gray and buff colored on top. Same question would go for birds in the wild that are totally bright colored, they can be seen by all predators, thats why they flock, for protection.
Bleeding hearts are found only in the Philippines. Several of the species are in danger of extinction. :(
Reply:its just the way they are
maybe the predators will think its all ready dead and not good to eat and bright colors normally are to make predators think they taste bad

Internal bleeding heart???? what?
I know this may be a really stupid question but i just want to be sure.
I was just sitting and leaning forward writing something and all of the sudden i feel like a really big beat from my heart that causes me to jerk up.
and now im feeling like theres smething just like flowing through that area like refreshing? sorry if this description is bad but its like when you have rubbing alchoal on your skin and when u blow on it its really cool. It feels like that.. i dont know if im just paranoid
is there something wrong with that??
or is it normal .
Internal bleeding heart???? what?
It could be heart burn or palpitations. Most symptoms are usually confused with something less serious. It could be muscular skeletal, or even a bruise to the ribcage. Go to see your local GP and they will define what the problem really is, if not you can always visit a Cardiologist to confirm the problem. Hope this helps! :)
Reply:Dont worry there is nothing like internal heart bleeding, internal bleeding occurs in stomch intestine and other many places, u havent said what was ur heart beat at that moment?
Reply:if you were bleeding from a valve or artery, you would be dead by now.........some people have palpitations......usually older though

With the discovery of massive amounts of oil in the Dakota's will the bleeding heart liberals prevent drilling
We have massive amounts of oil in Alaska but the Bleeding hearts have tied that up and now we have found huge amounts of oil in the Dakotas...Unless we start drilling and building refineries we will be dependent on oil from people who hate us...I worked in the oil industry and saw how many restrictions have been put on them and can tell you that if they drill in Anwar or the Dakota's they will clean up any mess they make.
With the discovery of massive amounts of oil in the Dakota's will the bleeding heart liberals prevent drilling
What I don't understand about liberals is their need to protect the environment of Anwar, yet turn right around and demand lower prices at the gas pump. Don't they get it? Unless we start DRILLING for oil where we KNOW we have the reserves, we will not get out from under the control of middle eastern oil lords. Yes, I want to preserve our environment for future generations but not at the expense of putting ourselves in a weakened position of dependence on others for our necessary fuel now and in the immediate future. There's no reason why we can't drill for oil here and also research alternative fuels while doing so.

Reply:It has nothing to do with having a "bleeding heart". It's simple economics that takes into account the value of all natural resources and the reality our the level of consumption.
We don't have the reserves to drill our way out of dependence on foreign oil. It cannot be done. The entire ANWAR north shore, if we take the most optimistic projections, might produce 100,000 barrels a day by 2011, and it might do that for about 5-7 years tops.
We consume over 20 million barrels a day, so with that in mind, there's no hurry to exploit ANWAR: it won't produce enough oil to put a dent in the supply side of the equation and change prices.
Will it ever be neccessary to exploit ANWAR? Probably someday, but we aren't drilling our way out of 20 million barrels a day dependency, so we have to look at the demand side of the equation as well.
Reply:Refineries would still be a long way off.
Most of the point about dependance on oil is just that our dependance. It's a dirty, non-renewable resource and even if we were swimming iin oil we'd still be warring with nations to get more. Oil is the new int'l monetary currency.
Reply:my greatest hope is these highest gas price's will make cars more efficient. More bio friendly use shale or coal to make gas would be an ecological disaster. No matter how much oil is found To be econimcally depended on oil when if given time we could be free from oil almost all together

What does it mean when someone calls someone a bleeding heart?
for instance Bleeding hearts of the world unite
What does it mean when someone calls someone a bleeding heart?
A term, usually critical, for someone who is held to be overly sympathetic to another person's (or group of people's) plight
Reply:This is a person who is sypathetic to any cause. Usually a gullible person who is too kind and caring to everyone. These people are easily tricked.
Reply:It is usually a reference to Bleeding Heart Liberal Dumb Asses. The bleeding heart insinuates that the person feels sorry for everyone and that you should not punish them for the crimes they commit. As in letting killers and baby rapers go free because they are just confused and will not do it again. Now you can see why they are called bleeding heart liberal dumb asses.
Reply:That is someone who takes sympathy in every cause even if the person brought it on themselves through something illegal. There are people who feel sorry for gang members and murders and stuff. THey blame society rather than the individual
Reply:This is a term for those who feel,
As if they can make the whole world heal.
They gather together to form a union,
Of sympathy for all those in collusion,
To create a feeling that is second rate,
According to those that underestimate,
A genuine feeling of sadness from the start,
We're uniting together to help the bleeding heart.
Hey dig digi--hope you like my little answers. ~p~

Poem from my bleeding heart...(I'm not an expert...) i just hope you like it?..?
How can you?
How can i make you feel the pain you handed me?
How can i make you see?
How can you ruthlessly cut the strings of life?
from this pitiful existence?
and then walked all over me without a glance?
Did you think i was numb, i do not know love?
nor could i bleed..not even an ounce?
How can I?
How can you?
you crushed my heart
you tore it apart!

I like your poem' and it expresses how it feels when someone tears our heart apart ' and how we feel so sad' and full of sorrrow when it happens.you explained it good' as it feels to have it happen to ourself's
Reply:from a male perspective I feel your pain. I could dedicate that poem to a girl I know.

"Like it" is relative however.
Though many will; Judging your submission is probably only relative in the sense that others might relate to it,,,OR for technical aspects of it. I find it arrogant otherwise, for anyone to RATE any body of work offered publically.
More important might be the question to you..."What did it do for you or offer you in writing it?" Has it been cathartic? have you sensed a "healing" through it? Do you now, or will you carry it; release it? Finally; was it, or will it be shared with the object of it's target?

The structure is good. There is one thing I would do though, and that is change some of the tenses. Such as: "How could you ruthlessly...", and "How can I? How could you?". It think it would make a nice contrast.

Typical bleeding heart thinking: Rabies in Manila - what's wrong with this?
I saw a news story about a rabies epidemic in Manila. There are stray dogs everywhere, and they are spreading the virus to hundreds of people a day.
The solution they have there is to "round up the dogs, vaccinate them, and neuter them."
Tell me what's wrong with this picture (bleeding hearts, try to think outside your little sob sister box here...).

Typical bleeding heart thinking: Rabies in Manila - what's wrong with this?
What exactly is the question? Are you trying to bait "bleeding hearts" into saying "No, they should most definitely NOT kill the rabid dogs - that's inhumane!"
Ever hear of a strawman?
You know I love you Jack - we're contacts, right, lol - and I see that you love me because you signed this question "Love Jack." But seriously. It seems like you're on some kind of Rush Limbaugh-esque anti-"liberal" campaign, and I don't get it. Especially with that avatar.
P.S. - OK, I admit, I missed a major part of this question, but I can admit when I'm wrong...lol. For some reason, I missed the part about vaccinating and neutering the dogs rather than killing them. I totally agree, that's ridiculous and stupid. Maybe I kneejerk-reacted here, probably because I'm still pissed that you criticized my remarks about personal appearance and consumerism...lol. But it DOES irritate me when people brand any sort of concern for anybody other than old Number One as "bleeding heart," "sob sister" whining. Anyways, peace. Better than what China did. China told people in the city they could not own dogs in the city because of rabies, then took them, and killed them with sticks.

Dogs being walked were seized from their owners and beaten to death on the spot, the Shanghai Daily newspaper reported. Led by the county police chief, killing teams entered villages at night creating noise to get dogs barking, then beat the animals to death, the reports said.

Bleeding Heart Question?
My mother in law gave me a pot last fall filled with bleeding hearts. I stuck it in the garage and they are coming up in very little soil. The stems are pale pink/whitish and it seems to me that they should actually be underground and were above the soil only because of the lack of soil in the pot. Am I correct in thinking this? Should the leaves just be above the soil line?
Bleeding Heart Question?
I love bleeding hearts. They are one of my favorite late spring plants. Mine are coming up now.You should plant them outside in a partly shaded area.Don't cover the stems.(What you are seeing) The roots will go deeper on their own.And the shoots you see don't look like the plant when it is in bloom. They remind me of celery hearts.Purple ones are red flowers and light green ones are white flowers.
Reply:Go to your favorite garden store and buy a new container, soil and fertilizer, come home and fill the pot with soil add some fertilizer[timed release type] plant the Bleeding Heart with the soil covering the top of the root system, and water it in, put it in spot with morning sun, afternoon shade, and enjoy this beautiful plant this year and do the same thing you did last year when the weather gets cold. Every year your container will need to be bigger than the year before, say if you have a 4" root system, bump up your pot to a 12" hanging basket, take the basket in over the winter, bump it up to an urn type planter the next year, if your winters are mild, say 7 1/2 to 8 zones you can probably plant it in the ground and add more mulch over the winter months, and as it gets warmer remove layers of mulch and let the sun start doing its thing and you won't have to pot and re-pot every year. Hope I helped, sorry I went so long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Planting
Reply:Don't bury the stems. They are pale.
Bleeding Hearts are propagated from seeds, division of the roots or from young shoots which start from the soil. Roots can be taken carefully by digging a section of the plant from a mature plant, cutting through one side. These shoots or the roots should be divided just before they start growth. It should be planted in an area where trees or roots of other plants will not compete for moisture or nutrients. Best growth is obtained when plants are spaced 2 feet apart and if planted in rows, space rows 3 feet apart. The pH can range from 6.0-7.5 and feed lightly, 5-10-5 commercial fertilizer. The plant takes 2 years to mature and grows to an average of 2 to 3 feet long.

I have fertilized it and it is in a shady spot. The plant itself is growing each year. It has a white Bleeding Heart next to it that never fails to bloom.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Why doesn't my 2-yr. old pink Bleeding Heart plant bloom?
Maybe it needs a little sun.
Reply:Do you give it enough water? Bleeding Heart plants grow well in moist soil. In the summer, you should put about 2-inch layer of compost around the plants to help retain soil moisture. :-)
Reply:Your fertilizer may have too much nitrogen, which promotes leaf growth, but not flowers.
You need a high phosphate fertilizer.

Are there any reports of the flower bleeding heart making people ill or sick?
Ingestion (eating) seems to be the only way and it mostly will affect animals that are grazing on it. Assume the person you are talking about hasn't been grazing . . . ;~)
However, this does not take into account individual variations -- SOME people are or become allergic to certain things that are totally innocuous to everyone else. For example, there is a small portion of the population that is highly allergic to Virginia Creeper, reacting like to Poison Ivy or even worse, while most people have no problem with it whatsoever.
So, that said, it may be something like that -- an individual reaction. The only other possiblity I can think of is a reaction to something ON the plant, like bug spray, fertilizer, etc.
Hope this helps!

Why does Scrooge change from a conservative into a bleeding-heart liberal socialist?
I saw Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" on TV last night with George C. Scott as Scrooge.
Scrooge undergoes a radical transformation from a conservative at the beginning of the film into what can only be called a bleeding-heart liberal socialist by the end of the film.
I thought that being a bleeding-heart liberal socialist was a bad thing. Yet, Dickens seem to say that it isn't.
How could Dickens be so wrong and isn't this just more evidence of the liberal/socialist media bias?

I guess Jesus was a liberal socialist too.

The point is, thank GOD everyone goes back to their regular rotten selves when they repack the Christmas tree after New Years. The alarming part is they are trying to stretch Christmas out the other way, Thanksgiving hardly got a nod this year, we went right from Halloween into Christmas prep mode. The longer you force people to be nice to each other, to go so against their nature, the more of them you will have exploding on Christmas Day, or close to it.
Dickens dealt with several factors in "A Christmas Carol", not the least important of which was keeping his favorite stomach filled. Another might have been what we refer to as the "Up Ending" scenario: Would the story have as much emotional impact on you if Scrooge were, through the first 2/3rds of the movie, a generous, kindly, fairminded fellow? That Marley appears to warn him he had better get greedy, or he would never survive? That he wakes up Christmas morning, flings open the window and stops the boy running beneath his window, JUST so he could hork up a half pound of lung butter on the kid's head? No one would buy such a thing (ok, David Lynch might- but he wont return my calls).
The other way is a HAPPY ending: Scoundrel finds redemption. What could be simpler? You have to appeal to the broadest market possible to get your stuff READ by the Teeming Masses (Sidney Sheldon and Jackie Collins live very comfortably by never forgetting this), so the symbols should be drawn large and plainly obvious, and the plot of "A Christmas Carol" makes this the perfect vehicle for ponderously large symbols.
I see no media bias in this: Just commercial bias. Dickens wanted his stories to PAY him. And corporations LOVE these types of movies, they're cathartic. You identify with Scrooge in the beginning, we all do. A brilliant man surrounded by syrupy fools who just want to waste that which Scrooge has worked so hard his whole lonely life for? SQUANDER the thing to which he has dedicated his entire life?
Then he gets a little TOO greedy. We find out why and we sympathize, but we also understand him a little better and that's a tricky thing to do with an anti-hero. So he must be shown the errors of his ways, and of course "get justice" (the concept of justice Ive seen in YA is nothing short of gladiatorial: Not much between it and Sharia law, the whole "Eye for an eye" thing. It should be proportional to the offense and if it's REALLY on the mark, it will also be some ironic ending specifically ironic to THAT character).
But, upon redemption (and let's be fair: The movie and TV versions seem to equate his realizing his mortality with redemption, and I dont see it that way: What I always saw was a miserly old fool who realized he was going to die alone and went about to buy himself as friends the only people who would even talk to him at that point: The Cratchits) he does a complete about face, the leopard LITERALLY changing his spots, and no one says anything about how Scrooge would not HAVE the gold to buy the "Biggest goose in all the land", had he NOT been that miserly old fool, cheating and scratching for every penny he made. He would not HAVE the money to help Limpy Jr there if he HADN'T been the Donald Trump of his era. Why does no one else ever SEE these things?

I need advice on my potted bleeding heart plant.?
Nothings really wrong with it but I want advice on how to take care of it from EXPERIANCED people who own a bleeding heart plant themselves who have great %26amp; needed advice. I really don't want people coping things from websites, I did that already and thats not what I'm asking for.
Oh and a second thing: i heard that you must repot your plant in a few years... can i avoid doing it, the pot i have now is pretty big but my friend told me it should still be repotted in a few years because it might not be big enough.
Thanks to all who answer!!

I have several bleeding heart plants in my garden - they like shade, and do best with moderately moist soil. The cooler and shadier the spot you put your bleeding heart in, the happier it will be and the longer you will get leaves and blossoms. However, all bleeding hearts go through a dormancy period after flowering and the foliage will get pale and eventually yellow, wither, and die. Continue to ensure that the soil stays moist, even when the leaves have died back, etc. Don't cut it back until the leaves are all yellow. Then you can cut it back to just an inch or two above the ground. Keep it moist and well fed, and next spring, you should have sprouts start up in the pot again.
It probably is a good idea to repot it every couple of years, not so much because of the size of the pot, but because of the soil. Bleeding hearts are woodland plants that prefer a very rich soil full of organic nutrients from plenty of leaf mulch, etc., and will tend to suck all the nutrients out of your potting medium. So it would be a good idea to replace the dirt in the pot with fresh potting soil every once in awhile, even if you do not change pots.
Hope this helps - enjoy your beautiful bleeding heart!
Reply:My parents lived in the midwest, my Mom had her "bleeding heart" plant outdoors all the years I lived in that house (grew up there). The plant was on the north side of the house. In winter the plant dies down so she would mulch it. Other than that occasionally she would feed all her plants with a little miracle-gro and then bug spray all her plants. I don't know even that a "bleeding heart" is supposed to be an indoor plant, nor do I know that it needs special care or repotting. I suppose if you live in apartment then that's why you're asking. Usually a plant is repotted when it looks stuffed in or when it starts to show signs on it's leaves.
Reply:Plant it outside. Just cut it down in the fall. Even my sister didn't kill her's. We live in Wisconsin, with maybe 4 weeks of summer!

I blacked out twice, was bleeding, heart rate went up, and I was dripping sweat, What happend?
This morning I woke up to me being 2 weeks early for my period. I am 24 and sexually active with my fiance. 2 Hours later I took a shower to get ready, was a hot shower then a cold shower. I started feeing dizzy so I sat down in the tub. Felt better so got out, then I felt dizzy again, sat down on the toilet. I was bleeding but not heavy. my heart rate increased, and I started to sweat heavily, I then blacked out. I woke back up and I started feeling tingly thru out my whole body along with getting hotter and more pain in my abdomen. I barely got dressed and finally got to the door to call my fiance. He had me lay down down but I needed to go to the bathroom again. I passed a bowel movement and sat there for about 35 minutes more until I calmed down, I thenlayed down and passed out again for about 2 hours. I would have gone to he emergency room but I am terrified and have researched, but cant really find anything specific to what happened...thankyou
I blacked out twice, was bleeding, heart rate went up, and I was dripping sweat, What happend?
It sounds like you had a vasovagal reaction. That means your heart rate started to drop due to the abdominal pain and you got very dizzy. When you got scared, your heart rate picked back up and you got sweaty. Your scared reaction may have also caused you to hyperventilate, which will make you feel tingly.
You can have a vasovagal reaction when you're going to have a large bowel movement, from the stimulation on the vasal nerve. It can cause you to get dizzy, your heart rate to drop, and you may get sweaty and nauseated. You may also have a tubal pregnancy or some other abdominal thing going on, which may need medical attention.
If you're bleeding heavily, or continue to feel bad, you should see a doctor. If you're feeling a lot better, just be sure to get yourself well hydrated. I've had that happen to me before, and it is SO scary. Try not to worry too much, though. It may be nothing and it may never happen again. Good luck!

The ER's main goal is to get you stablized to get you out of there fast...not necessarily to do exhaustive tests...you need to go to your regular doctor, who can do blood work, etc....what needs to be done..and maybe a specialist if necessary...
Reply:You NEED to go to the emergency room. Have your boyfriend or a frind come with you for support, but go. Don't let fear stop you. What are you more afraid of the hospital or death? I not saying what you have is deadly, I don't know what you have and neither do you, that's the problem.
Reply:it could be something as easy as severe dehydration.
Reply:Sounds like internal bleeding, better get the doctors to have a look.
Reply:Well, you should definately go to the emergency room. I can't tell you what caused what happened to you, but the medical term for it is syncope, and we take it pretty seriously. There are many reasons for it, some benign, some requiring treatment, but passing out by itself can be dangerous at the wrong time (imagine if this had happened while you were driving). So although I can't give you a diagnosis over the internet, I can tell you that you should get medical help, hopefully it's nothing, but a workup is definately in order.

I accidently broke my Bleeding Heart sprout?
It's early spring right now, and I saw it start to sprout a little. It's about 3 years old now. But a few days ago, i accidently broke off the sprouts. Its been like 3 days and i still don't see another sprout comin back out. Did i kill it? Will new sprouts come out again? thank you.
One more Question:
My bleeding heart plant is pretty, but its short and wide. I saw one before at the park, which was tall, like 1 1/2 meters tall. It looked like a tree form. Like, there are no leaves or branches untill the near the top, like a tree. Mines, is just like a short big wide bush. How can i make it grow tall and be like that one? I think it looks better like that.
I have a feeling, to do this, ill need to cut off the branches from the side and leave the middle one only, right? Is that how you do it, to make it grow tall instead of wide?
Thank You

Having grown Bleeding Hearts myself I would expect that the sprouts will return. Just give it a little time.
To avoid this in the fture you might mark where they are sprouting with a stake or something. Same for Peonies.
I have never seen a Bleeding Heart growing lke a tree. I don't know how you would train it to do that.

Can you divide a Bleeding Heart plant?
I was wondering if you can divide a Bleeding Heart? I have one that is getting very large and is taking over my garden.
Thank you
Can you divide a Bleeding Heart plant?
If you live in a northern climate be careful as to when you split them because they commonly die totally back during mid-late summer.
Reply:Yes. I would wait till it's done blooming then cut it back, split it and replant it.
Reply:i have done it in early spring by splitting them with a shovel, and they have done just fine. i would assume you could do it in the fall as well. i did a search and found this:

What exactly is a bleeding heart liberal?
Please no bashing! I am aware of what a liberal is. I just want know how a bleeding heart liberal is different than a plain liberal. One is in the dictionary, the other is not. If you can, give me an example of how the two would differ on the same issue?
Thanks!
What exactly is a bleeding heart liberal?
A bleeding heart liberal is often confused with a radical extremist. Although, you could compare the two. A bleeding heart liberals lives by their views and beliefs and is verbally expressive about them. Also, they value every aspect of liberalism and present pride.
The difference between a liberal and a bleeding heart liberal is that usually a "bleeding heart" liberal is more expressive and lives life through their support of liberal values. A "regular" liberal values human rights, equality, and fairness. Yet, they tend not to be extreme with their beliefs. Although, they can be verbal about their beliefs, but they only associate their beliefs with reverent topics. I hope I made sense.
Reply:Heres the perfect example:
A bleeding heart liberal is someone who protests offshore drilling from the deck of a diesel-powered boat.
Meaning that the boat, powered by diesel fuel obtained through the efforts of offshore drilling, seem to serve the purpose of the liberal protestors when it helps them in support of THEIR position but not in support of others.

A whiny cry-baby who bitches on and on about war and generally causes double the stir the actual war does. They are the very reason America has the most lopsided ratio of pride to success in the world. Generally a smug bastard who thinks he/she knows what's best for the country but can't even take care of him/herself. They also ***** about pollution all the time, then pollute the air with marijuana smoke and their own self-righteous bullshit.
Reply:While your at it, ask about "liberal bedwetter" and "Liebral", these are used often and make little sense to me, as I do not lie or wet my bed.
Reply:My Friend above has said it best,,,,mss "who cares"

They also ***** about pollution all the time, then pollute the air with marijuana smoke and their own self-righteous bullshit.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and Mexicans and Bleeding heart Americans....?
Are always talking and whineing about the 4 states that used to belong to Mexico and now belong to USA. They always say that ..well that was Mexico's etc etc. Well NOW it belongs to the USA.
Here is the Qestion:
If USA now wanted to sell the 4 states back to Mexico at current price (oh what the hell...just lets say if USA was willing to sell only Texas back at the current price) do you think the Mexicans can affort to buy it back...............
(please... before bleeding hearts have a heart attack. ...please check and see what price Mexicans sold Texas for and remember that the Mexicans were the ones who set the price).......
ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and Mexicans and Bleeding heart Americans....?
Based on the economy of the four states in question versus the economy of Mexico; Mexico could not afford to buy back the land they sold, even if we gave them a discount.
Personally, I can't understand why they would want the land back. History has shown that they have no idea what to do with the land and country that they have. Why in the world would they want more of it? Do they simply want to expand on their welfare state?
Reply:And would they understand that it would only be for the land and that the infrastructure would be destroyed. All they would end up with is more of northern Mexico. In other words....Nothing.

No Mexico wouldn't have the money to buy Texas back, not with what Texas is worth today. Mexico couldn't afford to buy anything back right now.
And if the bleeding hearts want to get technical, this great nation known as the USA originally belonged to the Native Americans so, get over it, get the illegals out and let us go on with our lives. I'm tired of having to listen to Spanish in the stores when I go in to buy anything.

If a Mexican sold me an old Impala for 500 bucks and I spent 5,000 "to trick it out", Should I give him back the car because he was nice enough to sell it to me? Should I sell it to him for 5500 because that's my investment? Or should I sell it to my cousin for 10500 he offered? If that Mexican tries to steal that car saying he had it first, what ever force is necessary should be applied to prevent the theft of my property and investment. It would be typical for such a Mexican to claim I stole the car in the first place but he made the deal. I would not sell the original owner the car since he has a reputation for crashing his past cars with disregard for necessary maintenance.

How toxic are bleeding heart plants?
I just moved into a new house and there is a bleeding heart plant growing in the backyard. I read somewhere that it is poisonous but was wondering exactly how poisonous it is if it is ingested as I have a small dog who spends a lot of time in the yard (not unsupervised though). Are we talking death here or just mild irritation and/or discomfort?
It grew about a month ago and my dog hasn't shown any interest in it as of yet, but he does on occassion lick or eat small bits of plants if he thinks they smell tasty. Is this plant super dangerous to have around or do you think it would be OK to leave it there?
Any info would be appreciated as I know next to nothing about plants. Thanks!
How toxic are bleeding heart plants?
the entire plant is toxic if ingested. i have dogs and they have never eaten it, but it's fenced in too. they paid no attention to it when it wasn't fenced in and I have 2 small dogs- one of which seems to be a grazer! I think he thinks he is part cow or something. if you're worried about it- put it. they are pretty, and you would be surprised just how many common plants that are probably in your yard are toxic. never seen thorns on mine.

plants down from the root, to be safe.

For all the bleeding heart liberals that claim our use of NON-lethal 'torture' ....?
For all the bleeding heart liberals that claim our use of NON-lethal 'torture' will only lead the terrorist to want to strike us, I have one question...
What did we do to deserve 9/11?
Why do they continue to oppose and expose our methods when they have prevented several attacks. Do they really hate the President so much that they are willing to danger the lives of innocent American men, women, and children to make a political point? How would you feel if you lost a husband/wife/child in a terrorist act that could have been prevented if we just had not put a terrorist's feelings over the lives of Americans?
For all the bleeding heart liberals that claim our use of NON-lethal 'torture' ....?
Think it through a bit more....torture is defined in treaties we have signed....I hate the president. not for his hair color or vocabulary, but for things like this.....THese ARE THE REASONS I HATE HIM....I don't have to make anything up. I don't hate the "spying on Americans' or the tortuting because I don't like Bush...I hate him because of those reasons
Reply:First of all, we have managed in the past to win wars without the use of torture. Second, what makes you think we haven't killed anyone through torture. Finally, I don't believe that there have been that many foiled terrorist attacks as I believe the current regime is nothing but lying POS!

We "dumb down" our people so that they are easier to control - keep them in fear so that they will do what the nightly news tells them to do.
Generation of fear of "foreign" peoples who's ideas and religions are "different" than our own.
How many "American" companies have gone overseas, where laws are slack, to take advantage of other nations' natural resources.
For the last 3000 years the human race has sought to solve problems through war - it does not work. More die and more problems arise.
Everyone who is "FOR" war, killing, and torture as a solution should just pick a nice desolate area and go at it. Whoever is left standing gets the right to stand up and say, "I was right. I WINNNNNNN!"

Al-Qaeda—the real Al-Qaeda—has not tried to attack the US. Every so-called terrorist attack since 9/11 championed by the Bush Administration has involved only mentally challenged nitwits and wanna-bes. Aside from the fact that Al-Qaeda operates on something like an 8-10 window; when their next attack comes, no one will have to ask if it was Al-Qaeda.
And, the Bush administration has demonstrated its total inability to stop any serious threat.
In the months leading up to 9/11, Richard Clarke (National Security Council’s Director of counter-terrorism) sent the following emails to Bush’s National Security Advisor, Condoleezza Rice:
“Bin Ladin Public Profile May Presage Attack” (May 3, 2001)
“Terrorist Groups Said Co-operating on US Hostage Plot” (May 23, 2001)
“Bin Ladin’s Networks’ Plans Advancing” (May 26, 2001)
“Bin Ladin Attacks May Be Imminent” (June 23, 2001)
“Bin Ladin and Associates Making Near-Term Threats” (June 25, 2001)
“Bin Ladin Planning High-Profile Attacks” (June 30, 2001)
“Planning for Bin Ladin Attacks Continues, Despite Delays” (July 2, 2001)
http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/they-kn...
On August 6, 2001, Bush received a CIA report entitled:
"Bin Laden determined to attack inside the U.S."
Armed with this information—knowing that AQ operatives were in American flight schools—knowing that the intelligence community was “running around with its hair on fire” screaming that a Bin-laden attack was imminent—what did Bush do? — He took the longest vacation in US Presidential history.
Either, Bush is the most lame and pathetically stupid national leader in human history—or he is a traitor.

What is a bleeding heart?
This is what the Doctors told my brother his heart is bleeding
What is a bleeding heart?
it's a small flower usually found in the northern united states that when you touch it it explodes and the flower opens and the petals separate. you can prob find a video of it if you search yahoo
Reply:when one of the valves are not working properly and you loose blood through one of those valves your heart is said to be bleeding (IE, loosing blood). It could also be generalized as internal bleeding, but the is a vague term

Why does the bleeding heart pigeon have that red marking?
I went to the local wildlife sanctuary recently and I saw the bleeding heart pigeon. It's really pretty but I want to know how or why nature gave it that kind of marking. If anyone has a good opinion on this, I'd like to hear about it.
Why does the bleeding heart pigeon have that red marking?
Probably a sexual ornament, to attract females (or males i guess if it's on both sexes). Like a peacock tail, or a turkey neck, or big full human breasts.
Darwin once thought there was no way to explain ornaments like this, but there are now two competing evolutionary theories on the purpose these ornaments serve:
1. "Specific mate recognition system" in this case it helps them find other bleeding eart pidgions, because if they seduced and mated with any old pidgion they would not produce babys and therefor from a perpetuation-of-their genes point-of-view it would be a waste of time.
2. "condition dependant display trait" so in this case only strong healthy birds will have a nice neat bright red spot, and therefor they are chosen as mates, so the spot is "selected" for.
That's the short version of the story, but if you google the names of those two theories you will probably find something interesting. Also it is very general, so you may want a more specific opinion on this particular bird.
Reply:It is for males to attract mates. They display their red chests prominently during mating season.
Reply:bright colored animals are usually the male sex of the species so that the females can identify them when they are ready to mate, it's called sexual dimorphism.

What would it take for a Bleeding heart ILLEGAL MEXICAN supporter to see the light.....?
Do you think that maybe (just maybe) it would take the official language to be changed from english to spanish for the bleeding heart ILLEGAL MEXICAN supportes who live in the good old USA to situp and take notice and start being against ILLEGALS jumping the fence or would it take something worst like a illegal Mexican fence jumper to rape, stealing from, murdering etc one of the bleeding heart supported loved, their ones or friends before they take notice and change their tune.
What would it take for a Bleeding heart ILLEGAL MEXICAN supporter to see the light.....?
I'm in agreement with the poster who said, "Once a bleeder, always a bleeder." They would not accept that illegal immigration is bad for the citizens of the USA, even if one raped and killed their own child! They would still find a reason to excuse it and justify the continuation of illegal immigration. I've been on this forum for 7 months and I have not yet seen one pro-illegal immigrant poster change his/her stance on this issue. I have seen anti-illegal immigrant posters who actually do post that they have some sympathy and empathy for some of the poorest illegal immigrants, but they still believe that these people should remain in their own countries and try to fix the problems there or if they are really determined to come to the USA, that they should be able to apply to come legally. They are able to come up with megabucks to pay to coyotes, so they should be able to come up with the small filing fees for a legitimate work visa, as well.
Reply:Hi there. It's me, Diane Feinstein and I will stop at NOTHING to ensure that every illegal Mexican has the inherant right to cross the California border whenever they choose. They should also have the right to free education for their twenty kids and free medical care. I also propose that we give each and every one of them a job of their choosing with good pay. In addition, we should give them a little something to get them started in our lovely country. We should be sensitive to the language barrier so we should be sure that everything is changed to Spanish. Oh, and you get to pay for it all so fork it over!
Reply:The first thing it would take is to get rid of predjudice. That is the root problem. Most illegals are illegal because of the red tape and hoops they must jump through to become a citizen. Maybe if someone would just help educate them about the process and give them the assistance that they need to complete it, they could get it right the first time. Hell it's hard enough just getting an address changed on a drivers license. But once they become a citizen it still doesn't mean that all Americans will welcome them with open arms.

They don't care wether they or a relative gets raped or its threatening their very existance, whatever. They still wouldn't get an abortion so, they will still support it.
Its the same exact thing.
Reply:To have one of them move in next door, burglarize their home, kill a loved one and then split back to Mexico and get by with the whole thing?
Reply:Well of course none of the legal residents of any race in the US have ever raped, stolen, or murdered. Dammit can't we just throw out the ugly people too!
Reply:It starts at the top.We now have the Republicans falsely acting like they want to do something about illegals when just this summer, our top people were warning the mexican govt. vincente fox and the military as to the location of the minutemen so they could cross elsewhere. They tried selling off our ports in the Dubai ports deal, and now talk like they want to strengthen them!We already have 12 million illegals (just Mexicans) so that helps big business work force and takes away jobs from legal Americans who like myself have struggled to live here, and now the illegals receive better care than we do!
Reply:They will never see the light until it is too late.
Reply:Even if they made English the official language, Spanish won't go away. It's not going to fix the bigger problem. People will still speak it. I'd still speak it. It's a part of my culture, and before you try to tell me to go back to Mexico, I'm Mexican-American....
Reply:none of that would change their minds .they would only find a way to qualify it. once a bleeder , always a bleeder. how sad for this country !!!
Reply:If you want to understand the type of thinking here, replace the words 'Mexican' and 'immigrant' with 'Jew', and replace the word 'USA' with 'Germany'.

Glowfish,Zebrafish,Zebra dinano, and my Bleeding Heart Tetras?
I know a glow fish is a type of zebra fish. So is a Zebrafish and Dinano the same too?
Are glow fish and my 3 female bleeding heart tetras compatible together in a 10g? I am planning on getting most likely one more bleeding heart.
If I do get glowfish should I get the 4 since I wll have 4 tetras or does it not matter if the number in the schools the same?
Glowfish,Zebrafish,Zebra dinano, and my Bleeding Heart Tetras?
"Glowfish" are not a type of "Zebrafish". There is no such thing as a "Zebrafish". There are Zebra Danios, and Glowfish are a genetically altered Zebra Danio.
For a 10 gallon tank, try 5 Bleeding Hearts and 5 Glowfish.
They won't know the difference in school number. The more fish you have in a school, the less nipping and stress there will be, but remember to be reasonable with your stocking.

Reply:You'll have no issues with these fish in a 10 gallon tank really. The Tetra's will probably get a little bit larger then the Danios. You could see yes that the zebrafish and Danio's are the same thing, but they're called Zebra Danio's. Glowfish are zebra Danio's that have a gene put in them to give them a neon look. This is not to be confused as the same thing as dying or painting fish. This is done at the egg level and not considered to be detrimental to fish as dying or painting is.
Zebra Danio's aka Glowfish are quite active, but do not get very large. Their waste levels are very minimal as well. The only real issue you might have out of this is the tetra's and danio's would probably both want to be an upper level swimmer. I feel you could have upwards of 10 danio's and probably 5-8 Tetra's. I say lower the tetra to danio count as the tetra's would tend to end up a little bit larger as an adult.
Bioload wise, I'm sure someone will come along and spout some 1 inch per gallon garbage, but in depth analysis of this situation will tell you, the waste levels and overall size of both these species doesn't apply the inches and gallons rules. I'd put an Aquaclear 20 HOB filter on your 10 gallon tank. Give it slightly higher filtration then the tank size and you'll be just fine.
Reply:Do you mean glowlight tetra? i have never heard of a glowfish...
A lot of my tanks are 10 gallons and its great for a community tank with 10 - 12 small fish in it

What is a Bleeding Heart Liberal?
If someone has a bleeding heart, they'll die.
What is a Bleeding Heart Liberal?
The term 'bleeding heart' stems from the notion that Liberals try to find solutions to problems that make THEM feel better - regardless of short or, more importantly long, term results of their polices. A typical 'bleeding heart' Liberal will seek to stick their noses in and try solve someone else problems rather than make an effort to create conditions within which people can solve problems for themselves.

How do you mend a bleeding heart?
the heart is obviously in your chest, but the bleeding heart could be a heart break or just a sickness?
How do you mend a bleeding heart?
The obvious answer it to make a conscious choice to do so and engage in activities that you enjoyed before hooking up with the person that caused you the bleeding heart and realize it doesn't mean they are a bad person or you are either, just not compatible.
Dating is a numbers game and more likely than not you will meet up more with people that don't have the same goals, values and priorities in life, but when you meet the right person, you will know it.

If broken heart can be mended, Love will lose its value. However, there are ways for partially healing the broken heart.
Try to forget the sweet memories you had with the one who broke your heart and try to build a new love in your heart. By doing so, the pain of your wound will reduced to a minimum level. May God give you streingth to overcome the pain of your wounded heart.

Does anyone know the bleeding heart story?
Theres a perenial call the bleeding heart which has a heart shaped flower. At one time there was a story told and youi use the flower to illustrate the story. We think the story had a prince, princess, and a sword. Does anyone know anything about it?
Does anyone know the bleeding heart story?
The Story of the Bleeding Heart
Once upon a time there lived a beautiful princess. Young men from far and near came to try to win her heart. But the princess was very vain and would have nothing to do with any of them. A young prince from a neighboring country fell deeply in love with hear. She ignored him like the others, though he tried and tried to win her over. One day the prince found a pair of pretty pink rabbits at the market. (Two outside petals) He sent them to the princess thinking,"these will surely melt her heart." But the princess went right on ignoring him. Then the prince sent her a pair of beautiful Oriental slippers. (Two long petals from front and back of flower) Still the princess would have nothing to do with him. The young prince was so heartbroken that he took his dagger and drove it into his heart. (Break off the stamen and pierce the remains of the flower with it) As soon as the prince was dead, the princess realized that she had really loved him. "As long as I live, my heart shall bleed for my prince," she wept.
Here is one version of the story hope it helps

Reply:Yes, but I forgot the names! It's similar to the Romeo and Juliet one. The girl was waiting in the woods and a lion came up so she ran away. The lion had blood on his mouth from a recent kill, so when the prince arrived he thought the lion had eaten the girl so he drew his sword and killed himself. When the girl came out and found her lover dead, she took his sword and killed herself. Their blood seeped into the nearby roots and the bleeding heart came about.
Sorry I can't remember their names!

Isn't it better to have a "bleeding heart" than no heart at all?
It seems that whenever we liberals show concern towards the disenfranchised in some manner or other, we are often called "bleeding hearts". Since when did compassion become a bad thing? Isn't it better to have a "bleeding heart" than no heart at all?
Isn't it better to have a "bleeding heart" than no heart at all?
Not getting much love on this one, are you? Seems you've touched a nerve.
My guess is that a cold heart, or no heart, is politically expedient, since politics continually requires the majority to flog the minority into submission. Hard to do that with a bleeding heart.
Those who maintain the "big tent" approach to governing are seen as vacillating and ineffective, hence the need for heartless indifference to individual needs.
However, binary logic is not the only way to govern, and we do not need to check our hearts at the door in order to preserve equality under the law. Equal is relative.
An example is the progressive tax structure, which may seem heartless to some, but was created to impose a greater burden on those who can afford it, so the impact would be perceived as equal, even if the burden is not. In this way, the law is applied unequally out of compassion.
The pragmatic effects of wealth distribution are an attempt to level the playing field, because privilege is inherited more than it is earned, and it can be seen as heartless to fail to address this fact. A dollop of humility for the rich, and some dignity for the poor, combine to keep us all in the game.
In this way, a balance is kept between heart and heartlessness, which would not be possible had there been no heart to begin with.
Reply:Because, acting like anyone is still 'oppressed' in America is to throw out all the progress we've managed to make over the last 100 years. The 'bleeding hearts' out there seem to forget that we've OVER-compensated for the misdeeds of the past. Equality is just that, equal, not giving one person preferential treatment over the other.

I'm hypersensitive, and I know that. Sometimes I think it'd be better to be a little more thick-skinned, but I've been this way for so long that I can't imagine living any other way. So I guess I'd have to vote for "bleeding heart," rather than no heart at all.

Metaphorically, though, both are bad. 'Bleeding hearts' are irrational, the 'heartless' have thier rationality untempered by humanity.
Reply:Better to have a bleeding heart. If everyone chose to have no heart just imagine how cold humanity would be.
Let me add that I could live in a world with no neo-cons but can't imagine one without the Kennedy's, Rockefellars, Clintons, Bono, Gates, and Oprah.
Reply:Compassion is not a bad thing.
The problem is that your "compassion" usually results in my wallet having less money.
Some of your "compassion" needs to turn into "tough love", and more advocating of personal responsibility.
Reply:There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a "bleeding heart", a desire to help other people or strive to correct some inequality (whether real or merely perceived).
However, some of the people for whom your heart bleeds might turn on you and stab you in the back if they don't think you are doing enough to help them. Sadly, that is another fact of human nature.
If you believe in it, though, keep working for it.
Reply:There is no room for a bleeding heart. I am more than willing to try to help someone that is willing to help their selves. This phrase "disenfranchised" is a bit over used. I am away from my family more than I would like to be. But, that is what brings the bacon home. Does that make me "disenfranchised"? If so, where are my entitlements? I put in close to 70 hrs. a week. Does that mean I should take what is mine and give it to some bum that is to damn lazy to get a job. That is the problem I have with you bleeding heart liberals. This idea that higher taxes will solve the problems these bums have created on their own. That is income redistribution, which translates into socialism. No thanks. GET A JOB.
Reply:Yes, quite right. I recommend you rent Bobby, right away!
Reply:NO! People create their own problems and therefore, by virtue, should solve their own problems.
Reply:Compassion is a wonderful thing but compassion without standards isn't. Everything in life needs to be balanced. There is nothing that can't be taken too far. We all need to listen to our hearts, but also use our brains.
Reply:It's better to have common sense then a bleeding heart. You're looking for some Utopia and it doesn't exist. Bleeding hearts have more concern for the criminals then the victims. Shame on you!
Reply:Or a heart that's so tiny it only holds the base emotions - like fear %26amp; hate.
*I'm enjoying all the spin and diversions from the question: "a heart is good *but*...... blah blah blah....
Reply:Its called political spin. When Republicans cannot defend their actions they try to trash their opponent. If you think about it,a lot of things Repulicans say make no sense. They have learned these tactics from their hero,Rush.
Reply:Bleeding hearts are a criminals best friend.
Reply:I've always maintained that being a Liberal is easy, because all you have to do is say that you care. You don't actually have to DO anything, it all comes down to what you say.
I have Liberal friends (no, really) and at any given moment they can rattle off a dozen or so "injustices" that they are "outraged" by. When I ask them to offer a solution, I typically get a canned: "I think the government should do more."
One friend in particular was railing on about V.A. hospitals, and how they are underfunded. I agreed with him, but pointed out that they had been a mess for decades (yes, through the Clinton administration as well.)
When I told him that I did volunteer work for the V.A. periodically, and that I had some contact information for him if he wanted to get involved . . . well, he looked at me funny.
The Liberal solution for everything seem to be to create a government program to manage "righting various wrongs" in society. Throwing tax dollars at problems allows certain people to walk away with a clear conscience and sleep at night, I suppose. Effectiveness really doesn't seem to be a factor, as long as they "feel good" about it.
I used to be poor. I was the one who changed that . . . I repeat . . . I was the one who changed that. I joined the military, got an education, and applied myself. If I can do it everybody can. If that makes me cold-hearted, then so be it.
Winston Churchill once that that if you aren't a Liberal by the time you're 30 you have no heart. And if you're not a Conservative over 30, you have no brains.
Reply:It's better to have no heart at all. You do more damage then good when you mistake leftism for liberalism. When you blindly bash the president %26amp; excuse Saddam, pity the criminal %26amp; bash the victim, push for new laws to protect us from ourselves are all examples of leftism - nothing liberal about it.
Reply:I don't know when compassion and empathy became a bad thing. It may have happened when caring for the environment was reduced to "tree hugging". It is sad.
Reply:I saw this movie where a guy ripped someone's heart out with his hands and then ate it. It was pretty gross.
