What constitutes a "bleeding heart"?

What types of things would make someone have a "bleeding heart" in your opinion? Is it possible for there to be "bleeding heart conservatives".

What constitutes a "bleeding heart"?
A dagger through the chest.

A bleeding heart is anyone who wants to save everyone with little realistic thought into the process actually needed to get there (and instead just uses taxpayer dollars).
Reply:I suppose it would be someone who wants to help a person, who has the ablitlity to help themselves but isn't, and wants to use other people's money to do it.
Reply:Any semblance of morality, empathy, rationality, or understanding
Reply:Generally, the term is used to describe liberals. It means being driven by emotion rather than logic.

There are many bleeding heart conservatives and we give great amounts of money to charitable organizations, because we do not believe it is the role of government.
Reply:Here's one example from me: People who don't think Welfare recipients should be drug tested.
