Are you a bleeding heart liberal or a bleeding heart conservative?

in the grand scheme of things, which struggle will be more critical to the fate of humanity:

(1.)The struggle of capitalist democracies like the US to provide a level of freedom for the people of the world against counter forces for oppression like the tyrannies of China, Russia, Iran, Syria, and North Korea.

(2.)The struggle to get gov'ts to tax the wealth of a nation in order to provide some basic quality of life to the poor and needy.

Are you a bleeding heart liberal or a bleeding heart conservative?
I'm a conservative without any 'bleeding heart'.

And (1) is obviously the more critical struggle.

As for (2), the bigger struggle is to prevent government from trying to exceed its limitations. It would be a better thing for welfare to not be a government function - it is inherently wrong for people to be able to vote themselves bread, paid for by someone else.
Reply:while the disparity continues to grow in this country your q poses a quandry for the intelligent because politicians are not really concerned with our wellbeing it is just about the vote for them thats why they have us arguing with each other over stupid social issues no one really can do anything about while democrats claim they represent the common man they have to get the black vote in order to be elected hence the constant stalemate with social services the republicans are all buisness minded out sourcing cheap labor people who think they are patriots because they watch foxnews regular americansare really stuck between a rock and a hard place as long as they have us voting one way or the other based on gay rights or abortion it is a slight of hand tactic to continue status quo and live large off govt awarded contracts and lobby firm kickbacks otherwise realistically if they were serving the common good there would be term limits and not lifetime careers
Reply:taking care of the poor and needed is what separates us from third world countries.
Reply:If a country does not threaten us or others, we don't need to sacrifice our country to help their people. Unfortunately Bush didn't think about that obvious statement when he decided to invade Iraq.

Buffman316 (below me) it is a very immature statement that you, and many others including Boehner, have made that liberals support the terrorists. we oppose the way Bush is handling things. we care for the welfare of the people too. you need to do 2 things:

1) GET EDUCATED!

2) GROW UP!
Reply:Liberal and damn proud of it!
Reply:I am whatever the opposite of a liberal is. I guess that means I am a hero, moral victor, baby lover not killer, on the RIGHT, a true American, and terrorist hater not lover.

Join me in the "send liberals to france" campaign in November!
Reply:I am somewhere in the center...don't like bush, didn't like Clinton, hell, I probably won't like the next guy or gal. But my job is to defend a nation so I will support who ever is in office, when I get out...well, thats a different story.
Reply:neither. you should tax everyone above the poverty line ( i think its about 30,000 a year, but i could be wrong) a flat tax ... say 15-20%. and with the tax money, strengthen the schools install libraries with computers and many many books, give more aid to those who cannot pay for school themselves. education is the key. CAUSE KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!!!! both sides are wrong. only a middle ground will due.. but people are too nice, self-rightous and proud to give a little help or tell someone "to get off their *** and get a job or its your *** not mine." or to be like hey man you cant get an education cause you cant afford it... here i have 50 million dollars extra this year.. let me pay for your school so you can get an education and support your family and better your comunity.
