Typical bleeding heart thinking: Rabies in Manila - what's wrong with this?

I saw a news story about a rabies epidemic in Manila. There are stray dogs everywhere, and they are spreading the virus to hundreds of people a day.

The solution they have there is to "round up the dogs, vaccinate them, and neuter them."

Tell me what's wrong with this picture (bleeding hearts, try to think outside your little sob sister box here...).

What exactly is the question? Are you trying to bait "bleeding hearts" into saying "No, they should most definitely NOT kill the rabid dogs - that's inhumane!"

Ever hear of a strawman?

You know I love you Jack - we're contacts, right, lol - and I see that you love me because you signed this question "Love Jack." But seriously. It seems like you're on some kind of Rush Limbaugh-esque anti-"liberal" campaign, and I don't get it. Especially with that avatar.

P.S. - OK, I admit, I missed a major part of this question, but I can admit when I'm wrong...lol. For some reason, I missed the part about vaccinating and neutering the dogs rather than killing them. I totally agree, that's ridiculous and stupid. Maybe I kneejerk-reacted here, probably because I'm still pissed that you criticized my remarks about personal appearance and consumerism...lol. But it DOES irritate me when people brand any sort of concern for anybody other than old Number One as "bleeding heart," "sob sister" whining. Anyways, peace. I am wrong, and you are right. %26lt;on knees making homage gesture%26gt; ;P
Reply:LOL...well, thanks - I am impressed. Yeah, I agree that sometimes "bleeding heart"-ness can be taken too far. But that shouldn't be made the excuse to be a non-caring jerk, I guess that was my original point. Report It

Reply:k, your question is; what's wrong with this. unless someone come up with a better solution or advice, i don't really see anything wrong with what they're doing cause they're trying to put a stop to an epidemic and something is better than nothing.
Reply:Well I'm a previous dog owner and I think they did the right thing.

Better than what China did. China told people in the city they could not own dogs in the city because of rabies, then took them, and killed them with sticks.

50,000 Dogs Killed After 3 Rabies Deaths In China

Dogs being walked were seized from their owners and beaten to death on the spot, the Shanghai Daily newspaper reported. Led by the county police chief, killing teams entered villages at night creating noise to get dogs barking, then beat the animals to death, the reports said.

Reply:A true capitalist would round them up kill them and then sell them to the N Koreans. Dog is a delicasy in Korea. Win Win for everyone.
