As I look back at myself I was a conservative now that I’m on my way to get my PHD in med; I find myself to be more open minded and more like a “ Bleeding Heart Liberal” can someone tell me what is going on with me?

What's wrong with having a heart? This nation used to be a compassionate, caring world leader. Now George Bush has turned the USA into an 'evil empire' that no one trusts.
Reply:A change in ideals is not a bad thing. Personally, I'm a conservative.. but more power to your evolution! Ask any radio-pundit, and they'll blame the colleges you attended. Some will tell you, "You're now an enlightened thinker!". Some of us reach that point where the answers we seek aren't found in the ideals of the political spectrum we once called home.

Reply:Because you've spent too much time in the shelter of academe surrounded by some of the most virulently leftist people in America. And this has affected you. Also, by not being conservative, you can actually seek a professorship position and get tenure at a university.





Also, in the university setting, you are far away from the realities of life, and closer to the theories, especially bad theories that never work in reality. Like socialism, collectivism, marxism. Like socialized medicine. Like Keynesian economics. Like diversity. Like affirmative action. Like class envy taxation. Like welfare.





Were you studying a real subject, or one of those academically fraudulent subjects (gender studies, minority studies, etc)?
