Adultism. Bleeding hearts, arrogance, or power scheme?

isn't it more likely that ageist fascism serves to strip them of their individuality and freewill so as to make them feel powerless and therefore as adults never question and always obey or if they question to never act?

Adultism. Bleeding hearts, arrogance, or power scheme?
What are you talking about?
Reply:I know someone who has at least 2 of those problems.
Reply:That's one way of looking at it. But depending on how you choose to see this, YOU are solely responsible for your reality and no matter what *their* intention is, yours gets in the way and stops *them*. Being an adult means facing a few challenges and dealing with them, anyway, don't you think?

Besides, I think that behind any kind of bias there is FEAR, which makes lack of KNOWLEDGE more likely in terms of the general public.
Reply:Power sceme... so we don't uprise against our current 'oh so great' leaders.

Children and teens are allowed to break the rules/laws and question authority because the consequences of most rules/laws really don't apply to them. I got a PI (public intoxication) when I was 15. My punishment (given to me by the government) was to write a report on alcohol and go to a counselor for one session to make sure I was not an alcoholic. No fines. No jail time. No adult court. It was practically BS.

And then we all turn 18. We must support ourselves now. Most people fear the government because we'd rather live outside of prison and/or not be outcasted by the rest of society. We play along in order to blend in, to not disrupt our societal and personal lives. If every adult started questioning and not obeying, our societal structure would collapse and there would be chaos. Most people would rather not live in chaos.

I could get out my books and tell you different theories of why people don't revolt, but I'd only do that if you asked. From what I've gathered mostly, people don't revolt because they think they have not the power to do so. I've seen many theories on that one (look into Karl Marx and Max Weber, particularly).

It is unfortunate, however, because the only way to change things is to revolt against what is going on right now. There must be people in this world that are willing to do so for change to occur. A charismatic leader (think Hitler), or mass chaos (in time of civil war or HUGE natural disaster) are the things that are most likely to change things.

But think for now, if every person revolted (as children do), do you think there would be no mass chaos?
