Why are you all so worried about the illegal immigrants in this country? Think it's ok to break the law? What laws have YOU broken?

Reply:Personally I don't have problem with illegal immigrants as long as they are not trying to get benefits (i.e. welfare, free child care, WIC)


I think (the ones I know) are great workers. I see a lot of Latinos, working very hard. I bet you WONT see any of us CITIZENS on the corner selling fruit, flowers or corn trying to take care of their families....





I say to leave them alone! I don't think they are breaking any rules! Hopefully they will influence us (CITIZENS) to go all out to take care of OUR families!

Reply:I don't know how you can compare illegal immigrants to breaking the law. You can't do that. The only law I am aware of that I have broken is speeding. How do the two compare?? That's my point.

I think the American people will never stand years of front page news about honor students and Eagle Scouts and community volunteers being deported, and eventually those here will be allowed to stay. If we are lucky they will be given special status because otherwise it will happen through a slow relaxing of enforcement which will turn the magnet for illegal immigration on all over again.





If we bite the bullet and take border security and enforceable employer sanctions in return for giving green cards (not citizenship), without a preference to bring in other family as most green cards confer, we can kill the guest worker program while we look at what is really needed, and make sure employers are paying the true cost of their labor - including cost of education. Right now, the guest worker program is designed to flood us with cheap labor to drive down everyone's wages so that only big business prospers.





I think the guest worker program is the real part to kill. I think that if we say 'let a guest worker program go forward but no amnesty' what will happen is we will get a guest worker program, the guests will never go home, the impact on education and health care will not be funded, and over time deportations for the current illegals will slow down and stop as people lose stomach for it. I think both keeping most of the current illegals and having the guest worker program together ON TOP of our current legal rate of immigration is simply too much immigration of lower income workers who are subsidised by our middle class.

Reply:i think you are an immigrant for asking this question. I have never broken any law. I'd like to know what laws you have broken. We don't need more people in this country who are dirty pigs. They don't even try to learn english. I'm not a rascist, but this is america, not cuba.
