How do you suppose we should punish a man for using experimental biological weapons on the people of his own country? Killing thousands for no reason what so ever? At least Hitler had a theory "if i kill all the jews, life will be better"... Saddam did it for the fun of it!!!
The only way i could see Saddam paying for what he's done in life other then being hung is to be tortured every way imaginable for 23hrs a day, 6 days a week.... the sixth day he can sit down for a break in a catholic church for service.
Why do i see so many bleeding hearts complaining about the cruelty of hanging Saddam?
Because they usually apply absolutism when moral relativism applies and apply moral relativism when absolutism applies. Basically, whichever suppports their particular agenda in any given situtation.
We are supposed to accept their decree of moral relativism, such as terrorists are just "freedom fighters" of a different culture as opposed to terrorism is absolutely evil, OR their decree of absolutism, such as capital punishment is absolutely wrong as opposed to the Iraqi moral relative idea of justice for an absolutley evil man who does not deserve to breath another breath.

Reply:I think we should take up a collection and send them to Iraq with all of their protest regalia attached to them and just turn em loose. Or better yet, lets send them to Iran or Kuwait. they would be equally as glad to give these bleeding hearts something to bleed about,.

people who feel sorry for Saddam's execution they probably have Alzheimer and forgot what he did to Iraqis and the massive numbers of innocent civilians he killed and tortured for no reason
Reply:I have to admit, I support the hanging of Saddam. However, for just a split second I thought of the actual act of hanging and it freaked me out a bit.
The thing is that people have grown so accustomed to the "easy way out" death penalties given that when someone hears of the more gruesome hanging it hits a bit more.
All we hear about now is lethal injections, which in my opinion is an easy death. When someone is truly punished by a more painful death it seems to grab people's attention more.
Reply:When people complain about Saddam's execution, it's not because they feel sympathy for the person being executed. It's because they're opposed to the method of execution and the nature of the trial. To be honest, I would be really pissed if the US did to its criminals what Iraq does to its.
Giving someone the death penalty and then killing them a month later (without time for a proper appeal and case) by hanging is very outdated and barbaric. Regardless to whether it's Saddam or not, hundereds if not thousands of innocent people have been killed by this type of "justice". So it's not that we're complaining about Saddam being hanged, it's that most people (including myself) are opposed to the way the trial went and the method of execution. If the Iraqi government wants to be democratic the it's going to require a massive overhaul of its judicial system and methods of execution.

Saddam didn't do it for fun. He just did it to put fear into the heads of the Shiites and Kurds that way they don't have the balls to try and seperate and create and independent nation. At the time the Kurds and Shiites were very rebellious (and they had the right to be consider how they were treated) and so Saddam went to extreme measures to stop them.
Reply:Give it a couple of days and they will find something else to complain about. I sure hope so anyway I am tired of hearing about how people think it is so wrong. If he had killed or raped their families they would be saying something different!!!
Reply:Actually I think the Catholic service might be construed as cruel an unusual punishment. Only kidding people don't take me seriously not that anyone does. The fact is there more bleeding hearts than can be counted, since you can't shoot them you just have to live with them.

Reply:The bleeding hearts are complaining about the hanging of Saddam because thats what bleeding hearts do. They think that no matter what one person does to his fellow human beings is no excuse for us to take his life.
There is no other way to punish a man who did all of those things to his fellow countrymen. Some say we should tear him limb from limb. Others would say that isn't humane to do that. Others would say what he did wasn't humane.
I agree that what he did was inhumane and cruel, and he got what he deserved. I would have liked to have seen more happen to him though.
Reply:Okk... I think that many people aren't sorry that Suddam is dead. But they don't believe that death pealty, in which Suddam was hanged because of, they don't believe that people can take another persons life. I think, and many others do, that a life sentance would of been much more exceptible. Everyone is just sorry that people still have the power to kill because of the penalty's and laws that they have. I think that people think that its not "fair" in a way.. I can't really expain. But I hope no-one is really sorry that a criminal/killer(many many people: inocent people!)
should die the way that he did...
