Why are liberals called bleeding hearts?

It sounds like a compliment to me.

Why are liberals called bleeding hearts?
Because we have compassion for our fellow humans, our hearts bleed for them. It is supposed to be an insult, but Jesus had a bleeding heart, too. So I take it as a High compliment.

Reply:Research would give you the answer. Having a heart for people is a compliment. A bleeding heart is not a good thing and shows personal problems that would probably result in the inability to help others.





Keeping people in poverty to "fight poverty" is one illustration.

Reply:You want to give away everything to those that may not deserve it, even if what you give is not yours! You have compassion for those who deserve contempt. You kill defenseless babies for a woman's convenience, but won't execute a convicted murdering rapist to comfort the family of a woman that's life has been taken and body defiled. Not a compliment but a disorder.
Reply:If you aren't a liberal by age 20, you have no heart, if you aren't a conservative by age 30, you have no brains. Liberals operate on feelings, they think they are being compassionate, but they cause more problems than they solve.

Reply:Bleeding hearts base there idealism on emotions and sympathy those these traits seem good they are in fact not. Feeling sorry for someone and pampering them will not help them it only keeps them down. To suggest like some that conservatives don't care is judge mental and wrong. Some of the most giving people I have worked with give their own time and money to help others. They just disagree on how people should help one another. My experience with liberals has not been good they per fer to take other peoples money and then claim they gave it. They are not giving of themselves and they tended to be more outspoken. Most conservative tend to me more reserved.

Most people think that it is bleeding heart, only because they aren't familiar with the word bleating and need something to reference in their minds. So it gets replaced with the word bleeding by those that don't know better.





So republican commentators are saying bleating and everyone is hearing bleeding.
