Why are sensible people who care about their fellow humans referred to as "bleeding hearts?"?

I am so glad my attitudes are not like the hardened right wing nazi thugs who post so many Qs on here, crawling to each other.

Why are sensible people who care about their fellow humans referred to as "bleeding hearts?"?
I agree. I think they confuse intelligent reasoned arguement for weakness.


I don't know about you, but I've spent most of my life with people around me with fairly similar views. One very clear benefit of going to uni in my book! You kind of forget what other people can be like.


I once met a banker who was convinced that because he was blessed with intelligence and luck in his upbringing that he deserved all of the money he earnt....he was truly incensed that he should have to pay for social benefit through taxes. He thought I was a bleeding heart when I told him he was a muppet!! You don't seem to meet them so often in real-life as on the net at least!

They are not sensible in my book. The beauty of our system here in the good old US of A is that you can work as little or as much as you want. You can get an education or not. You can have or have not...the choice is up to you.





Those who get educated and/or work hard to get ahead and stay ahead should not have to foot the bill for those who choose to slack off and/or be drug addicts.





Anyone who wants to take money from the hardworking and give it to crack-heads so they can keep having babies is in no way sensible.





Sensible people care about those that care about themselves.
