I've been asked by a 6 year old. I made up a fairy tale . He just wasn't buying that.
Can you tell me how the Bleeding Heart Plant got it's name? I can't seem to find an answer.?
The flowers are heart shaped. They have a petal formation that hangs below the bloom that looks like a drop. Hence bleeding hearts.

Reply:Because when the plant blooms, it is like a spray of flowers each one being smaller the the one before it and also lighter in color hence bleeding heart oh also each little flower looks like a heart
