Is the beef recall in CA just another bleeding heart Liberal point of view?

Believe it, that I myself am loving of animals, but this beef recall seems rediculous to me, since there was no disease found in the meat.

Why the recall? The cows were crippled, so had to be pushed to the slaughter, to be made into meat, and some of this meat was sent to schools lunch programs. So? I don't get the recall.

Are people saying it's okay to send non'crippled cows to the meat factory to be slaughtered to feed them, pushed or not? They can walk, and they do, everyday.

What is the difference, and isn't this meat being wasted due to some peoples fear tactics?

(There is a video included in the link below)

Thank you.

i think there is absolutely nothing wrong with this meat. it is a big waste of food. do all of you not know that when meat is coked to a minimun of 160 degrees farenheit, all bacteria, parasites and viruses die? even if it did have any microorganisms, if you cook it, it is fine! (except you weirdos that eat your meat half-raw). as fot the "unfit for human food" goes, i think they are being extremists. seriously, there are people on earth starving that would love to have a "crippled cow" to eat. there are people in haiti eating mud because they have nothing else to eat. i dont know how some people can waste food.... besides, if the cows couldnt walk, who cares? its still food, so yes this meat recall is ridiculous
Reply:Is the truth recall in natioanlists just another bleeding heart patriotism point of view?

Why is everything that isnt Facist-Nazis-fer-Bush somehow "bleeding heart liberal" in your little world.

I look at some of the way you patronize warmongers I'm like "Somebody get her a tissue!" LOL

I prefer poultry so I dont really care.
Reply:Generally cows that can't walk are sick. It seems likely to me that you may have ingested some of that meat. Are you feeling OK?
Reply:It may be "more than just crippled". Until they test, they have no idea "if" these cows were affected by say mad cow disease or any other diseases. The meat factory is suppose to have these types of cow situations looked at, and the truth of the matter is they DID NOT. This video actually made me sick................
Reply:I've been vegan for 20 years, and I agree with you. There is no difference.
Reply:You don't feed your kid garbage do you? I don't think this has anything to do with politics but with the health and safety of the American people.

Maybe if you decided not to look at this as liberal or conservative you would see that.
Reply:Lol. Here folks we have a city person asking a question. How can you tell? The embarrassment they face not knowing what they are talking about. How about this Xeny? You and your offspring (god i hope you have none) eat all the tainted meat you want. And let the rest of our children (most of this meat went to schools) eat better meat. How does that sound to you? You maybe conservative, but to a country guy, you are as big of an idiot as the liberal hippies that assuredly live down the street from you in what ever backwater metro area you live in.
Reply:because the ones that couldn't walk and were slaughtered were thought to have a disease maybe......mad cow. you can thank your 'liberal's now (if that is who you are blaming this on) for trying to save your life, you.......
Reply:No. There is usually a good reason cows are unable to get up. If we as a society accept potentially sick animals as a food source, how long will it be before we are eating roadkill.

Added. I'm far from a bleeding heart liberal too.
Reply:YEP

We on the Right Side of Life love eating diseased meat

If you have seen the film you must have noticed the cows in question were Holstein Dairy Cattle. There is only one reason old dairy cows get ground into hamburger. They are to old and sick to give milk.

Yep business as usual profits over common sense.
Reply:"an undercover video from the Humane Society of the United States surfaced showing crippled and sick animals being shoved with forklifts."

"Authorities said the video showed workers kicking, shocking and otherwise abusing "downer" animals that were apparently too sick or injured to walk into the slaughterhouse."

You want to eat an animal that's too sick to walk? You can thank a liberal for food quality standards by the way...
Reply:Ahhh ! Isn`t it great to be a vegetarian !!
Reply:I will agree, somewhat...There are government inspectors on site, who should be concerned, so this does not develop into a recall in the first place..That is their JOB, THEY DO NOT ISSUE RECALLS...But when a recall is ordered, there is no better source than

www.totalrecallinfo.com

Take care.
Reply:Meat raised like that isn't good quality meat. I've started buying from the local farmers and my meat quality has gone up tremendously in terms of flavor. They also practice older techniques of killing animals which are less harmful in the long run.

In simple terms, however, the plant was not in compliance with FSIS law and thus without compliance the meat is not considered consumable.

If you want that meat, I'm sure you can have it. Feed it to your kids...
Reply:Personally I prefer Road Kill, since it was healthy and walking and/or running before it was hit.
