Like many woodland flowers, bleeding hearts die back after blooming. Planted in shade with humus rich, moist soil the plants will last much longer.
A number of varieties are available, including some with all white flowers to an almost ever-blooming type that looks similar to wild bleeding heart

Does anyone know how long it takes a bleeding heart to come up, I planted 3 about 2 1/2 weeks ago and nothing?
It sounds as though you bought some sold in a sealed plastic bag....these rarely take as have been subjected to too many temperature ranges.
