Why are the leaves of my Bleeding Heart turning yellow?

Bleeding hearts go dormant in the summer. It will make a comeback next spring. No need to worry.

Why are the leaves of my Bleeding Heart turning yellow?
Coould be several things:

Lack of proper fertilizer

Not enough moisture

insect infestation

Usually color change indicates lack of proper food.

Take a soil sample to your County extension service and have them run a nutrient analysis. This will tell you eveything you need to know to produce a quality crop. Some charge a nominal fee, some do it for free. Most universities do a great job on analysis, but do charge a fee for doing so.

Some nurseries have the ability to do a soil analysis, but they are less accurate than the university.
Reply:It is almost July and the heat is too much for the bleeding heart. If it could talk it would say,"SEE YOU IN THE SPRINGTIME."
Reply:If the leaves are wilting or feel dry, they are probably not getting enough water. They are a shade plant and shade plants like a descent amount of moisture. Water it a little more and it should come out of it.
