Was Jesus Christ way too liberal, inspiring the weak bleeding heart liberal values embraced by Democrats?

Jesus seems to have been way off base in his attitudes about being understanding, loving, caring and tolerant. He should have taught that people must take personal responsibility for their circumstances and that helping them only makes them lazy and weak. Christian soldiers must fight on to destroy those who spread the liberal values that weaken our nation.

Reply:True compassion comes from a willing heart, not the forced law, order, or tax of government. Jesus was all about what comes from your heart, not what you do under government compulsion. Jesus never suggested that you should intentionally be lazy or a burden on others; nor did he advocate sexual liberation which leads to out of wedlock births which are a burden on society and insure a life of misery for the offspring.





Liberals are tyrants at heart---they want to force us to live their way. They want to take our money to buy votes to impose their totalitarian methods. Thus, I would tend to favor "rendering Caesar" rather than "rendering unto him".





By leading lives of personal responsibility peoples' lives will be richer in every way; they will grow as individuals and achieve better for themselves and their families.





Thus, we should abolish the Entitlement State and replace it with a Personal Responsibility Society. I would think Jesus would want each person to do their very best; we should voluntarily help those who cannot help themselves. But if you want to force it on me, then war is justified!

Reply:Christianity has inspired both modern conservative and (less directly, via Deism) liberal ideals. It's been a very influencial religion for 2000 years now.
