It's difficult to find a bleeding heart (dicentra spectabilis) this time of year. They are generally available in spring; I see them everywhere here in Washington at that time of year. If you can't find them at a local nursery, try contacting Burpee Seed Company. They sell the plants in season.
Reply:Bleeding Hearts are very difficult plants to grow from seed. That's why you never see any in seed displays in the spring. You are better of to get cuttings that have already been started and are ready to plant when your Garden Center gets then in the spring.
Reply:i dont know where gilroy is,im from so.calif and i have several bleeding hearts that i bought from armstrong nursery. good luck
Reply:Your Google must be broken.

Reply:its a beautiful plant but since winter is starting to set in its not likely that you will find one but on the off chance check your local green houses and if then do have them they will be super cheap because of the season....you may want to look online....i bought grass plugs online for way cheap and it can usually be during any season....good luck!
Reply:its called bleeding heart vine and is in the clemantis family.

It wont trail over everything like normal vines, probably gets about 1 1/2 sq. metres

they are deciduous and are very easy to grow from cuttings. i have 3 of them and they are a very hardy plant
